November 26th 2011 '40 year reunion' - Former Era
school site - Donvale
Below is the ad for the 40 year reunion,
which was a great success with approximately 300
people attending. Reports on the reunion will be
added as they become available. A speech by Clive
Rossiter at the event has been transcribed and can
be found in the 'history' section of this website.
Era
40 year reunion,
Saturday 26th November 2011, 1pm to 6pm. Family
and friends welcome!
Venue: Old Era School site (now Carey Grammar Donvale
campus), Era Court, Springvale Rd, Donvale. Enter
from Mullum Mullum Reserve. (Map
below) Go into the tennis club near Era
Ct and use their car park. Follow the signs. There
is a footpath from the tennis club carpark that
winds around the oval and up the hill. For disabled
access only use Era Court.
BYO
alcohol. Food and non alcoholic drinks available
for purchase.
Please
note: We have been told
that there is NO SMOKING permitted anywhere on the
Carey grounds and also NO DOGS allowed.
Memorabilia and photos encouraged. There will be
display boards provided, but please let us know
via the 'Contact' link on the menu what memorabilia
you intend to bring so we can cater for its display.
There will be supervised access to the main building
and regular tours conducted by Carey staff.
Volunteers
needed!
If anyone can help with any of the numerous small
jobs on the day, or has a video camera and
is willing to record part or all of the event, please
let us know. There will also be facilities for
playing live music, so if
you play guitar or other instruments you are welcome
to strut your stuff in the busker's corner.
