When Annette Robb left teaching at Era,
she began a family, then went to teach at Ngukurr,
an Arnhem Land Aboriginal Community on the Roper
River. She and her partner had three boys, and
became immersed in Aboriginal Culture.
In the late 80's her health began to suffer,
with knee and back problems, and after several
failed surgery episodes she was finally diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis. She died in 2003 after
a prolonged illness.
She was my best friend, and always spoke
fondly to me of her time at Era, both during her
time there, and in her later years while we were
reminiscing. Everyone who met her became very
close with her, and she is fondly remembered.
